The ureaplasma serology kit is the first accurate enzyme-linked immunological assay
for the detection of antibodies to Ureaplasma urealyticum and Ureaplasma parvum in
human serum or other body fluids, such as amniotic fluid, urine, semen, CSF and
synovial fluid.
Ureaplasma species are frequently detected in the lower urogenital tracts of healthy
adults. It has been found in up to 45-55 % of sexually active men and women worldwide.
and 80% in the USA . It has been demonstrated that ureaplasma infection is associated
with a number of diseases including non-gonococcal urethritis (NGU), cervicitis, bacterial vaginosis, difficulties in getting pregnant, pregnancy complications including
chorioamnionitis, preterm premature deliveries, stillbirth, followed by mortality and
morbidity of the premature neonates (respiratory distress syndrome, chronic lung
disease and and meningitis.
Every women who experience the above mentioned urogenital problems and every man
who suffers from urethritis, prostatitis, infertility (semen abnormality) should be tested
for ureaplasmas.
